| In 2005, we were accepted into the Environmental Qualities Incentives Program (EQIP). This federal program provides cost-share incentives on fencing, watering systems and pasture improvement provided you follow their standards. | We have three acres in the Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) for Filter Strips. This set-aside ground protects our stream from run-off.
We also have one acre in CRP as a Shallow Water Area. Since its creation, we have attracted numerous bird species, including Blue-Winged Teals, Soras, Great Blue Herons, Great Egrets and migrating shorebirds. We have created a bluebird trail and are hoping to attract Purple Martins to a new martin house. |
